My plan for safety week is to get children to understand the dangers of fire, to map out with their families the best way out of the house. Our community has lost children in a house fire a few years ago. I myself am a victim to a house fire. It’s pretty scary and happens in the blink of an eye.

We go to the fire department and the students learn about what they do and get to see all the vehicles they have for rescue and fire.

Thanks for the fantastic information. I have shared it with all of my students and their teachers in PreK-8th grades.
We honor our firemen with visits to the fire department, taking them cards and other items. They are always happy to bring over the various trucks for any event. We are also fortunate to know someone here who works with the local museum. It is fascinating to see the old fire trucks and compare with the new, and the same for all the equipment as it has changed over the years. We appreciate all that our firemen do for us.

These activities were excellent! Thanks for sharing! Our firemen also bring the trucks and have on occasion brought artifacts from the local Fire Museum here in Memphis. We appreciate all that they do!
